Come On Feel The Illinoise! - Sufjan Stevens

Illinois is one of my top 15 albums of all time. I love the album not only because I’m in love with Chicago but because it is also a unified masterpiece. After all it was voted the best reviewed album of 2005.

Lately it’s been playing back-to-back. The hardest part tonight was choosing a song. I’m sure most of you have heard ‘Chicago‘ by now. Then there’s ‘John Wayne Gacy Jr.’ which is the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard about a serial killer. I could even post one of my favorite songs to clap to: “The Tallest Man, The Broadest Shoulders”. Since I can’t decide I’m just going to go with the one I already wrote up top!

Friendly Fires-Kiss of Life

I honestly heard this song for the first time today, and I liked it so much that I thought I’d share it. It’s just so darn catchy. Thanks to the drums and the samba-like feel, this song sounds absolutely massive. Ed Macfarlane even reminds me a little bit of Beck here, which makes it that much more lovable.

Listen, love, repeat.

This is a win win. You are probably going to see MI:4 anyway. Now you get a bonus Dark Knight Rises.
